UNP National Organiser Navin Dissanayake today said that the heart symbol proposed by UNP- led alliance leader Sajith Premadasa could not be taken seriously.
He said many on social media were making fun of the symbol while some were associating it with valentines day.
Dissanayake added that he would not contest under the heart symbol under any circumstance.
He said if the UNP-led alliance contested under the heart symbol it would surely lose its existing votes.
The Working Committee proposed that the 'elephant' symbol be used for the alliance. It is the best symbol to go ahead with,” Dissanayake pointed out.
