The Private Bus Owners’ Association (PBOA) called on authorities to prove allegations of certain private buses charging exorbitant fares.
PBOA President Gemunu Wijeratne said that authorities must take action.
“It is up to the National Transport Commission and the Sri Lanka Transport Board to investigate these allegations and take action where necessary.”
He said that he was unaware of such incidents but any allegations with basis should be probed.
“We are struggling with the pandemic and as a result, we might have missed such irregularities. But authorities must take the necessary measures.”
