The number of Covid 19 cases reported yesterday was 578, of which 516 were reported from within the island. This is the highest number of Covid patients reported in two months.
171 patients among these were reported from Kurunegala District.
Among them are 51 Sri Lankans from foreign countries and 11 tourists.
The number of Covid infections admitted to the hospital has also increased by about 40% in the last few days, the National Operations Center for the Prevention of Covid-19 Outbreak said. It is reported that about 150 infected people are currently receiving treatment there.
