A total of 146 Covid patients were identified in the Jaffna District yesterday (08), said the Chief Epidemiologist of the Epidemiology Unit Dr. Sudath Samaraweera.
He points out that most of the Covid infections in Jaffna could be reported today (09) as well.
"More patients were reported yesterday than in the previous days, 303 of whom were identified from various areas, 146 of whom were identified in the Jaffna district. There is no threat to society because they have been quarantined," he said.
Meanwhile, Dr. Sudath Samaraweera has requested the public to refrain from going to public places during the festive season.
He also points out that if that is the case, basic health care measures should be taken.
"We have so far successfully controlled Covid disease in this country. Restrict yourself from going to festivals, parties, gatherings of people," he said.
