The highest number of vaccines administered in a single day under the Covid-19 immunization program took place yesterday (30).
Prof. Channa Jayasumana, Minister of State for Pharmaceuticals stated that 170,995 doses of Sinopharm were given yesterday alone.
Of these, 91,759 doses were given as the first dose and 79,236 doses were given as the second dose.
Meanwhile, the first dose of Sinopharm vaccine was given to people over 60 years of age in the Western Province yesterday and the vaccination program is still in operation in 45 hospitals in the province today (01), the Ministry of Health said.
