Brunch had the pleasure to witness the unveiling of the hotel’s festive line-up for Christmas Eve with the official lighting of the giant christmas tree at their lobby.

Having a chat with Fernando while we watched the dazzling lights turn on, he told us that from Christmas to New Year’s Eve, their customers can expect a range of truly unique culinary highlights as well as festive favourites that will cater to all palates. “Whether it’s a classic turkey from the Chef’s Table or a unique festive meal at the restaurants, the seasonal programme promises a culinary getaway where guests can celebrate with loved ones,” he explained.
Additionally, on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and Christmas Night, Graze Kitchen and Emperor’s Wok will prepare gastronomic festive favourites to suit everyone. We even had the pleasure to experience a fine dining experience of what’s to come on Christmas Eve at the Emperor’s Wok, and let us tell you, it’s definitely not something you’d want to miss out on – a range of uniquely prepared meats and some irresistible Christmas sweets and of course, the traditional art of Chinese tea pouring that kept us entertained all throughout dinner. What a unique way to spend the most wonderful time of the year.

Fernando also told us that the festive afternoon tea at LAB from 20 to 25 December is the ultimate gastronomical pampering in between meals. Hilton’s famous Café Kai is also to offer a range of Christmas goodies; from roasts to Christmas cake, Christmas pudding, traditional mince pies, Yule logs, breudher, stollen, love cake, assorted homemade chocolates in various shapes and sizes, and scrumptious cookies, from 1 to 29 December. We must also highlight the iconic eggnog that Hilton Colombo specialises in this season. We can very unbiasedly say that we’ve been loyal customers for years, and their eggnog has never once disappointed – creamy, thick, and a tantalising blend of spices with that extra kick – how can one say no?

This year too, the sensational duo Lydia on violin and Tilanka on flute, will perform at the lobby from 10 to 25 December from 7.15 p.m. to 8 p.m., as they do every year. Having witnessed their performance ourselves, it’s a great way to dive into the spirit of the season. Fernando also told us that the choral group “Choro Calibre” will perform at the LAB on 24 of December from 8 p.m. to 8.45 p.m. As for the kids, they’ve arranged a special visit from none other than dear ol’ Saint Nick. Santa will be popping by from 20 to 25 December from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Christmas day, so kids, make sure you get on the nice list.
As December parts, New Year’s Eve becomes the centre of attention and at Hilton Colombo, Fernando told us that all the restaurants will dish out festive menus; an extensive buffet at Graze Kitchen and an extravagant set menu at Emperor’s Wok and whilst the LAB will feature live entertainment.
