Government Parliamentarian Hirunika Premachandra, in an emotional speech in Parliament today, said that she was not a thief and that allegations made against her were baseless.
A media report today had said that a sum amounting to Rs. 20 million had been spent through an account belonging to the Welfare Society of the Maga Neguma Construction Equipment company to fund the political activities of Hirunika Premachandra.
It was reported that the Police FCID had submitted details on the allegation to court.
Premachandra said that she was not questioned by the FCID on the allegation before details were submitted to court.
