The Inspector General of Police (IGP) has issued a circular instructing all senior officers and Officers in Charge at police stations to take action against those who interfere in police investigations.
Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana today said the circular was issued by the IGP on January 8 after several incidents of people interfering in investigations were reported.
“Several persons impersonating as close friends and relatives of the IGP had called several police stations asking the OICs to conduct investigations in favour of certain personnel,” he said.
