The President has ordered to destroy the stocks of turmeric illegally imported by unscrupulous businessmen, the President’s Media Division said.
President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has ordered the Director General of Customs and the Inspector General of Police to strictly enforce the law against such businessmen.
He said the local farmers have successfully expanded the cultivation of turmeric and maize.
