Indian Govt. officials to visit SL to discuss further aid

22 Jun 2022

Officials from the Government of India are due to arrive in Sri Lanka on the 23rd of June to discuss discuss future aid to Sri Lanka as Sri Lanka has already taken USD 4 Billion via the Indian Credit Line and has requested for more assistance, says Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe while speaking in Parliament a short while ago today (22). "We cannot be requesting India for more assistance as they have done a lot already and they too have limits. We now have to focus on how to pay them back. The only way forward now is to depend on the assistance from the International Monetary Fund (IMF)," the Premiere said. He further noted that a delegation from the United States of America is due to arrive in Sri Lanka on the 27th of June to discuss the current crisis in Sri Lanka.
