People who travelled outside of the Western Province on October 29 and 30 would be subjected to self-quarantine for 14 days at the places they are currently residing in, Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said.
The Police earlier requested the people in the Western Province not to leave for other areas over the long weekend.
To prevent people from leaving the province, quarantine curfew was imposed from Thursday midnight.
However, it was reported that many people have left the province before the quarantine came into effect.
