Army Commander Gen. Shavendra Silva says that inter-provincial travel restrictions will be imposed from today (12) to midnight on 30 May.
However, the Army Commander stated that these restrictions do not apply to essential services.
Accordingly, more details on how the essential services will be implemented will be announced in the future, the Army Commander added.
Gen. Silva also stated that there is a possibility of imposing travel restrictions within districts, taking into account the Covid-19 situation prevailing in the country.
Meanwhile, Inter-provincial Sri Lanka Transport and private bus services were suspended from midnight yesterday (11).
State Minister Dilum Amunugama said that the manner in which buses will be used for essential services will be announced later.
