* Argentina 33 – 11 Wales

Wales suffered a humiliating loss at the hands of Argentina as the visitors took the win by 33-11 at the Principality Stadium on Saturday (17).

Wales opened the scoring after Nick Tompkins dragged few defenders on before Jonathan Davies released Owen Farrell to power past the scrambled Argentine defence to the try-line. Los Pumas responded from the restart when their big pack powered close to the line before winger Matias Moroni jumped over. Shortly afterwards, Nicholas Sanchez extended the lead to 10 points with a penalty.

Two minutes later, from a scrum inside the 22’’, Argentina powered around the corner before scrum-half Tomas Cubelli touched down for their second try. However, Wales’ fly-half Jarrod Evans reduced the deficit to nine before the break. The second half started ominously when Wales’ full-back Hallam Amos was sin-binned. Five minutes later, Sanchez stretched out the lead through a penalty for the visitors. He converted another penalty and there was time for Pablo Matera to put the icing on the cake with a late try.

* British & Irish Lions 49 – 3 DHL Stormers

Lions, coming back from an alarming defeat at the hands of Springboks ‘A’, showcased a dominant performance against DHL Stormers to take the win by 49-3 on Saturday. The visitors took time to settle down as they conceded first points through a penalty from Tim Swiel. It took almost half an hour for the Lions to get first points on board which came through a converted try from Adam Beard. They followed it up with another converted try through a maul which saw Luke Cowan-Dickie sprinting over ten meters to touchdown. The first half ended with another Lions’ try from Johnny Hill, who finished off a brilliant team move.

Second half started off in fine fashion for the Lions as they scored their fourth for the night through Jack Conan who received the ball after a line break from Elliot Daly. After a try was overruled by ‘TMO’, Lions crossed over for their fifth try in the 69th minute.

Zander Fagerson was the try scorer who benefitted after few carries from the forwards. In the final ten minutes, they run over twice through Louis Rees-Zammit and Sam Simmonds to finish off a convincing win.
