Investigations launched to inspect heat capacity of gas cylinders in market

06 May 2021

The Consumer Affairs Authority says that an investigation has been launched into the heat capacity of gas cylinders sold in the market. The Authority stated that complaints have been received that some of the gas cylinders currently on sale in the market do not have the required heat capacity. The Consumer Affairs Authority has already taken gas samples and started testing. Gas sold in the market should contain 70 percent butane and 30 percent propane, the authority said. However, gas companies claim that butane and propane are contained in 50 percent of the gas cylinders currently on the market. Meanwhile, various discussions have arisen regarding the weight of gas cylinders and it is said that due to this a shortage of gas has already been created in the market.
