Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Skipper Virat Kohli on Saturday (18) said his side will not take the good showing in the first leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) for granted, adding that their latest additions, including Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga and Dushmantha Chameera, have added a new dimension to the team.

Before the first match of phase two on Sunday (19), RCB were in third place of the eight-team tournament, behind Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings respectively. Two-time defending champions Mumbai Indians were on the fourth place. RCB have seven more games to play in the group stage.

The IPL 2021, the 14th edition of world’s richest annual T20 league, was suspended on 4 May in India after a rise in Covid-19 cases within the bio bubbles of respective teams.

At the time of the suspension, 31 of the scheduled 60 matches were still left to be played. On 29 May, the organisers, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced that the remaining matches of the tournament would be played in the UAE before releasing the revised schedule on 25 July.
