Iran has expressed its intention to offer military training to Sri Lankan officers, the Defence Ministry said in a press statement.
These views were made when Iranian Ambassador to Sri Lanka Mohammad Zaeri Amirani called on Defence Secretary Maj. Gen. (Retd) Kamal Gunaratne at his office, today (02).
Amirani who briefed Gunaratne on the present political situation in Iran informed him about training opportunities that could be offered to Sri Lankan Police and Armed Forces personnel in Iran.
Discussions were also held on improving bilateral cooperation and friendship between the two countries.
