Isolated areas: Over 5,000 asked to self-quarantine

Around 4,000 persons in a Modara apartment complex, 1,000 persons in Kolonnawa, and residents of Bandaranayakepura and Kolombissa have been instructed to self-quarantine, The Morning learnt.

A senior Army official of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of Covid-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) in Rajagiriya told The Morning that these residents have been asked to self-quarantine as Covid-19-positive persons were identified in the areas of Kolonnawa, Bandaranayakepura Kolombissa, and an apartment complex in Modara on Tuesday (5).

In addition, the Police Media Division (PMD) told The Morning that six areas including Suduwella in Ja-Ela, Nagalagam Street in Grandpass, Abhayapura and Somapura in Polonnaruwa, Kurunduwatta, and Narahenpita continue to be categorised as isolated areas till further decision.
