Opposition Member of Parliament Vasudeva Nanayakkara says that among the brothers of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, only former Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa is eligible to contest at the next presidential election.
Nanayakkara has made this comment to a Sinhala weekly newspaper.
He has said it is the only way to interpret the response given by the former President during a recent interview to The Hindu newspaper in India.
Responding to a question posed by The Hindu, Rajapaksa said that one of his brothers could be a contender at the next presidential election.
