After Thilanga Sumathipala was banned by the Sports Ministry last week from any involvement with the cricket administration, former Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) President Jayantha Dharmadasa is to be appointed to the SLC Executive Committee, replacing Sumathipala, SLC sources said.
The Sports Ministry banned Sumathipala following the International Cricket Council’s latest restrictions on persons with connection to the bookmaking industry.
Sumathipala was part of the SLC Ex-Co in his capacity as its Immediate Past President and Dharmadasa will be the next in line for the position, to be vacated by Sumathipala.
