The Jathika Hela Urumaya (JHU) today(25) officially announced that it will support the UNP- alliance, 'Samagi Jana Balavegaya'.
JHU Leader Patali Champika Ranawaka announced this decision during a press briefing held in Colombo with the participation of Samagi Jana Balavegaya leader Sajith Premadasa and the party General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara.
Premadasa said that the JHU will join the alliance as one of its main factions.
In a joint media statement, last week, the JHU, Tamil Progressive Alliance(TPA) and the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) said they were in agreement with the UNP Working Committee decision to form a new alliance led by the UNP with Premadasa as the leader and Prime Ministerial candidate.
