J’pura Uni student returns home after months of treatment

By Agra Ranasinghe Pasindu Hirushan, who was being treated at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Colombo General Hospital, has finally arrived home, following significant progress in his recovery, The Morning learnt. Pasindu speaking to The Morning said that he could not recall what happened on the day of the incident in which a tractor tyre was thrown in his direction at a party held for the 1st year management students of the University of Sri Jayawardenepura. Pasindu, however, added that he was thankful to all who wished him a speedy recovery. Lakshan, Pasindu’s brother, told The Morning that Pasindu, who was not even in a state to consume food or liquids had finally recovered to a state where he could feed himself. "It was great to welcome my brother back home. However, he is still unable to walk. At this time we thank all who wished for our brother's recovery and all the hospital staff including doctors and nurses in the hospital," Lakshan said. He also acknowledged that court hearings pertaining to the incident are to commence. The Morning understands that further investigations are being conducted by the Mirihana Police, and that among the five suspects of the incident, one suspect is in remand.
