Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) MP Vijitha Herath today (03) submitted a letter to the University Grants Commission inquiring on the unfair admission of students into local Universities during the 2019/2020 admission, given the common Z score for all students irrespective of whether the student faced the examination in the old or new syllabus.
The Minister stated that the cut off mark which was released recently was unfair as the students had faced the exam in two syllabi.
He further requested that the UGC be transparent in revealing the number of students who were admitted to each faculty of all universities under the old and new syllabi separately to ensure that no unfairness was done.
