Kanchana Ratwatte has been appointed as the new Chairman of Bank of Ceylon (BOC).
Ratwatte is a Lawyer by profession and has an LL.B degree from the University of Colombo.
He is the former Director General of the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL)and has also served as Chairman of Ceylon Shipping Corporation Limited and Chairman of the Sri Lanka Standards Institute.
Ratwatte has appeared on behalf of numerous clients including corporate entities in both criminal and civil areas of the law and has extensive experience in the public and private sectors in the fields of commerce and administration.
He also has extensive experience being a member of the board of directors of several private sector enterprises in the fields of IT, security printing, software development, BPO, Insurance broking and Securities.
Ratwatte had his primary and secondary education at Trinity College Kandy.
