Vinayagamoorthy Muralitharan alias 'Karuna Amman' has been summoned to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to record a statement, Police Spokesperson SSP Jaliya Senaratne told reporters at a press conference today.
Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) C. D. Wickremeratne this morning ordered the CID to investigate into the controversial statement made by Karuna Amman.
Karuna Amman last week noted that he was more dangerous than the coronavirus since he killed more than 2,000 to 3000 military personnel overnight at Elephant Pass when in the LTTE.
He made these comments during a public rally in Nawadinweli in Ampara.
