A 28 hour water cut is due to happen in certain areas in Colombo and suburbs due to a leak in the main line from from Ambatale to Kotte, The Morning learns.
Ministry of Water Supply Secretary Dr. Priyath Bandu Wickrama confirmed the same to The Morning today (11).
"The supply will have to be stopped temporarily for 28 hours as repairs are needed. For such a situation, we normally would take up to 48 hours, but we are trying to make sure the repairs are done with the least amount of time taken so people will not be inconvenienced," he said.
The affected areas include Colombo 4,5,6,7, and 8, along with Kotte, Kaduwela, Maharagama and Boralesgamuwa.
The water supply is due to be stopped by 8pm on the 13th of November, and the supply will resume by midnight on the 14th of November.
