The launch of the ‘SLPP (Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna) Political Leadership Academy’ for political excellence under the patronage of former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and MP Namal Rajapaksa has drawn many comments from the public on social media platforms. Questions have been posed online whether the SLPP is qualified to teach politics to the people.
One of the main points noted in the social media comments was whether the SLPP had the required knowledge to educate the youth who were interested in politics, especially given the blame placed on the former SLPP Government under President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Rajapaksa for the ongoing economic crisis.
The SLPP has also conducted a series of meetings with the party’s district leaders and electoral organisers to discuss and evaluate the issues faced by the party and the possible reasons for the failure of the SLPP Government.
