Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa said Thai Pongal festival could be used to promote reconciliation and to renew the spirit of unity among the communities. In his Thai Pongal Message, MP Premadasa said, “What the world needs today is reconciliation. The people have a great responsibility to achieve this. If Thai Pongal festival can act as a bridge to promote reconciliation, the world would be a better place.”
