“Do not let a single drop of water fall from the sky into the sea,” King Parakramabahu said hundreds of years ago. Sri Lanka is a beautiful country in the world and one reason for that is our water resources. The waterfalls are falling between the mountain slopes and plains. The streams are flowing through the roots of the rock. The lakes were built by kings of the past to make the country self-sufficient with rice and rivers being a great support for the beauty of our country. The kings have done a great job on our water resources.
Water is a very important factor. We can’t survive without water. Water is so closely connected with human life. Currently, water is being polluted. By drinking dirty water, humans as well as innocent animals get sick and die.
Man is responsible for water pollution. Let us protect the water resources of our country without polluting them. It is our responsibility as well as our duty for the future.
