The Department of Posts says that it is planned to open post and sub post offices in the island from tomorrow (03).
Announcing this, Post Master General Ranjith Ariyaratne stated that post offices will be opened for limited duties including public payments and distribution of medicines for the month of June.
Recipients will be able to visit the post office / sub post office by presenting the relevant payment card or Identity Card to the security forces on arrival.
Accordingly, at the request of the Ministry of Health and the Presidential Task Force, the distribution of medicines from clinics in government hospitals to patients at home will also commence from tomorrow as well, the Post Master General said.
If there is any problem in this regard, the Department of Posts states that further information can be obtained by calling 1950.
