The Central Bank has agreed to provide loan repayment and interest moratorium and other relief for a further six months from April 2021 in response to the requests made by the Bus Owners' Associations, State Minister of Money & Capital Market and State Enterprise Reforms Ajith Nivard Cabraal today said.
He said that discussions were held with the Central Bank, following which they had agreed to issue instructions to banks and finance companies in the next few days in this regard.
“In response to the requests of the Bus Owners' Associations, I had discussions with the Central Bank which has agreed to issue instructions to banks and finance companies within the next few days to provide the loan repayment and interest moratorium and other reliefs for a further six months from 1st April 2021.
“The IGP has also agreed to instruct all police officers not to allow the seizing of the leased vehicles until the moratorium period is over in September 2021,” the Minister said in a tweet.
