Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake today said losing the East Container Terminal (ECT) would be similar to losing the Colombo Port.
He said the ECT is the most strategic and profitable terminal at the port. He also said the government was attempting to hoodwink the public in order to handover the ECT shares to an Indian company.
"The people elected the government and the President not as the owners of the country but as the guardians, for five years. But the government behaves as if they can make any decision the way they like," he said.
