A 38 year old individual has been hacked to death following a personal dispute in the Katunayake Police area, it is learnt.
Speaking to The Morning, Police Spokesperson SSP Nihal Thalduwa stated that the individual was a three-wheel driver and had informed his family that he would be stepping out to obtain fuel last night.
"He had stepped out of the house stating that he was going to get petrol. Just as he left, a short while later, some people turned up in another three-wheeler and started attacking him with swords. The man was taken to the Negombo hospital, but he had already succumbed to his injuries upon admission. This was a personal dispute the police have learnt," said Thalduwa.
He further noted that an investigation into the matter has been initiated by the Katunayake Police.
