A person had opened fire at the Mount Lavinia court complex a short while ago, it is learnt.
Speaking to The Morning, Police Spokesperson SSP (Attorney at Law) Nihal Thalduwa said the suspect had managed to excape from the vicinity.
"He fired a couple of rounds towards the witness stand and he then ran. At that moment, the witness was testifying for a case. The witness is safe and no injuries are reported. The Police is currently searching the area for the suspect," Thalduwa said.
