A 37-year-old man identified as Mohomad Thaslim, a resident of Dhanagama, Mawanella was shot and injured yesterday at his residence.
Two unidentified gunmen opened fire while the victim was asleep for motives still unknown to the Police.
The victim is currently receiving treatment at the Kandy General Hospital.
The Police said that they had not been able to gather information from the injured man.
However, the Police said that they were carrying out a comprehensive investigation into the incident.
