05 Feb 2021

Archaeological Chakravarthy Ellawala Medhananda Thera today said that some Tamil politicians in other countries are spreading misinformation about the excavations at Kurundamale and that Sri Lankans should unite to protect the heritage of the country by eliminating religious and racial differences. The prelate said this while speaking at a media briefing held at the Government Information Department today on the excavations at Kurundamale. The Thera said 99% of the archeological sites that are currently being excavated in Sri Lanka are associated with Buddhist temples.
