'Merrizila’22', a fun event which included many forms of entertainment organised by the Rotaract clubs of Kurunegala and APIIT was held at the Henry Pedris Grounds in Colombo. Rotaract Club of APIIT joined hands with Rotaract Club of Kurunegala and organised ‘Merrizila 2022’ which was held in March at the Henry Pedris Grounds Colombo. This was a joint project aimed at collecting funds to distribute food items to the destitute families in a remote village in the Kurunegala District. Merrizila was a fun event which includes many forms of entertainment. The members of the two clubs had installed food stalls where the participants were able to taste many kinds of food and beverages. The club members were divided into groups and deployed at each stall in such an organised manner that they not only got an opportunity to shoulder the responsibility of the stall, but also got time to visit other stalls and enjoy the carnival along with their friends. A mini concert with a dance and a music group consisting of members of both clubs had also been organised. In addition, a few game stalls had also been installed at the premises. Organisers said that organisation of 'Merrizila 2022' was a daunting challenge given the prevailing situation. However, they said that with the dedication and determination, the organising committee, together with the members, was able to make it a success, which was funded by several sponsors.
