Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, Eastern and North Central provinces and in the Hambantota and Mullaitivu districts during the evening or night today (18).
The Meteorological Department states that there will be showers in the Central and Uva Provinces. Heavy showers over 50 mm are also expected.
Showers will occur in the Western and North Western provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts. It also urges the public to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers posed by temporary strong winds and thunderstorms.
