Ministry secretaries receive directive : No changes: P.B.

  • Chairmen and board members to remain
President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has issued directives to all secretaries of state institutions and additional secretaries in charge of state institutions to ensure that the current chairmen and boards of directors remain in their positions. The directives were issued on Tuesday (11) ahead of the swearing in of the Cabinet of Ministers and state ministers on Wednesday (12). Accordingly, all chairmen, members of the boards of directors of state enterprises, institutions, corporations, statutory agencies, and government-owned companies will continue to hold their positions. “This is to ensure that the work that was initiated by these Ex-Co members since December 2019 will continue with the respective cabinet ministers, and state ministers too will be briefed by them once they commence their ministerial positions.  “The positions will remain to stand valid as the President appointed them through a Selection Committee that was established at the time of assuming office in November 2019,” President’s Secretary P.B. Jayasundera explained.
