The Election Commission (EC) is to discuss logistics for the mobile polling units this week, Election Secretariat Director General Saman Sri Rathnayake said.
"We are yet to determine the logistics for the mobile polling booths to be deployed in areas where people are under self-quarantine. The discussions will take place over the next few days, after which we will announce the number of mobile polling booths," Rathnayake told The Morning.
With the Covid-19 pandemic still prevailing in the island, the Election Commission (EC) stated that they would look at alternative options for voters to exercise their voting franchise while in quarantine.
