Mobile supermarkets and deliveries being considered

State owned Lanka Sathosa and several other leading supermarket chains are likely to receive state approval to operate mobile markets and delivery services given the present situation in the country, senior government sources said.

Accordingly, these supermarkets would be issued with necessary approval to operate these mobile operations even during curfew times.

However, it is learnt that the government is looking at preparing a set of  health and safety guidelines that the supermarkets would have to adhere in order to permit mobile supermarkets/deliveries.
