Only K. Mathivanan could win from the Dharmadasa camp when both Arjuna and Nishantha Ranatunga lost their bid to become Vice President and Secretary respectively. Mohan De Silva and Ravin Wickramaratne of the Shammi Silva-Thilanga Sumathipala group were elected Secretary and Vice President. Addressing the media after the much awaited polls, the winning party’s De Silva said truth and justice prevailed. Meanwhile Arjuna Ranatunga said it was a victory ‘bought’ by money.
