A 40-year-old suspect, a follower of slain underworld figure Moratu Saman, was arrested in Katubedda, Moratuwa yesterday by the Special Task Force personnel, police said.
Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said the suspect was arrested for possessing a hand grenade and 5grms of heroin.
“The suspect will be produced before the Moratuwa Magistrate today. It was revealed that the suspect is a follower of gang leader Moratu Saman who was killed by a rival group in Moratuwa couple of years ago,” he said.
