* End of Nuno Espirito Santo’s reign at Wolves

Wolverhampton Wanderers confirmed that there Manager Nuno Espirito Santo will be leaving the club at the end of the season on mutual agreement. In four seasons at Molineux, Nuno has led Wolves to the Premier League as EFL Championship titles and recorded back-to-back seventh-place finishes in the top flight. His side became the first Wolves team to reach the quarter-finals of European competition for nearly 50 years and he will exit the club as its fifth longest serving Manager of the post-war era.

Nuno has said: “Since the first day we arrived at Compton, our ambition was to make a positive change and push this football club forward. And I am proud to say that we did that every single day. We achieved our goals. We did it with passion and we did it together. Firstly, I want to thank the supporters, who have all played such an important part in helping us reach new heights for Wolves, and the people of the city, who embraced us and made us feel at home. I, of course, want to thank all of the staff at Wolves, for their support and total commitment, every single day. Most importantly, I want to thank each and every player that we’ve worked with since the day we started, for their loyalty, their dedication, hard work and talent. They are the ones which have made this amazing journey possible for us.”

* Suarez vows to stay at Atletico

Luis Suarez has vowed to remain at Atletico Madrid for at least another season, writing off all the transfer speculations surrounding the Uruguayan striker. There had been talk of the 34-year-old striker would walk away as a free agent in the summer. There were many rumors linked to an Anfield return, where he made a name for himself. Former Barcelona player Suarez helped Atletico win the LaLiga title after seven years as he scored 21 goals in his first season with the Rojiblancos.

Suarez told Movistar on his future plans: “Yes, I’m sure (I’ll stay). Atletico welcomed me from the minute I arrived. I asked the club if there was room for me on the museum wall to make history at Atletico.”

* Aguero to Camp Nou

On the eve of lifting the Premier League for the fifth time, Manchester City had to bid an emotional farewell to one of their best players, Sergio Aguero. The all-time highest goal-scorer for the club runs out of his contract and he is set to join his national teammate Lionel Messi at Barcelona. Man City Manager Pep Guardiola confirmed the transfer in the post math interview and showed his appreciation of everything Aguero has done for him and the club.

He said to BBC, “Maybe he is close to agreeing a deal for the club of my heart for Barcelona. He is going to be playing alongside the best player of all time, Messi. I’m pretty sure he is going to enjoy. And maybe Barcelona are stronger and stronger with him on the pitch.”

The Argentine striker was fortunate enough to have the best possible farewell at the Etihad with a brace in the final league match of the season and his fifth Premier League medal with Manchester City.

* Bale clear of his future plans

On loan from Real Madrid, Gareth Bale found his charisma in his former club Tottenham Hotspur. Bagging 11 goals this season, he enjoyed game-time and reminded the world what he is capable of. With loan spell coming to an end, he seems to be certain about his future plans but he is not yet ready to say it out loud.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: “It will happen after the Euros. I know what I’m doing but it will just cause chaos if I say anything.”

When he was asked when he would reveal his plans, Bale said: “Whenever I decide. I am not thinking about anything. All I’m concentrating on now is obviously finishing this season off strong. We meet up straight away for the Euros and I’m not thinking about anything else other than Wales.”

The Wales star scored a brace for Spurs as they defeated Leicester 4-2 on the final day of the season on what could be his 2nd farewell appearance for the Spurs.
