The Government has no way to allocate more funds even though the Government servants are making more demands, resulting in public services becoming a burden to the country says Minister of Finance Basil Rajapaksa.
He made this statement while speaking at a media brief which was organised by the Ministry of Finance today (13).
"Granting funds to public servants in some way means taking it from the common people, by no means can public money be spent on public service again next year. It is obvious that the public services have now become a burden to the Government," he said.
The Finance Minister emphasised that the Government cannot further allocate more funds on behalf of public services, but discussions are currently in place to employ more youth to the public services to promote more opportunities.
