A 32 year old mother has jumped into the Chandrika Wewa along with her two children aged 11 years and 5 years, in an attempt to commit suicide.
Her 11 year old son has been saved, while the 5 year old daughter was found dead.
The mother died after admission to hospital.
The son is currently receiving treatment at the Embilipitiya hospital.
