MoU between SL and Australia to exchange persons who violate immigration laws

A Memorandum of Understanding will be signed with Australia to exchange persons who violate immigration laws and to guarantee a systematic return to the country of residence, the government said today. The memorandum ensures a safe return and readmission on persons travelling in the countries, including provision for the exchange of persons staying in violation of the immigration laws. Accordingly, the proposal tabled by the Minister of Irrigation and the Minister of National Security, Home Affairs and Disaster Management was approved by the Cabinet yesterday.
