Opposition leader Mahinda Rajapaksa told the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) today that he backs abolishing the Executive Presidency.
Rajapaksa met a JVP delegation today led by JVP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayaka.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Dissanayaka said that Rajapaksa had informed them the policy decision of the party was to oppose the Executive Presidency.
However Rajapaksa had some reservations on backing the 20th Amendment to the Constitution.
