The Colombo Chief Magistrate yesterday (19) enlarged on bail the reigning Mrs World Caroline Jurie and model Chula Padmendra, after their arrest in connection with an incident that occurred during the finale of the Mrs Sri Lanka pageant where the winner Pushpika De Silva was forcibly de-crowned by the duo.
The bail was Rs. 100,000 each.
The Police officers representing the Cinnamon Gardens Police had told the Court that the Nelum Pokuna Theatre, where the event was held, had suffered a loss of around Rs. 400,000 owing to damages to property.
Accordingly, the Chief Magistrate has ordered the Police to calculate the loss and send it to the Attorney General (AG) for advice and to report back to the Court.
The case is set to be taken up again on 28 June.
Complainant De Silva also appeared in Court yesterday.
