Businessman Thirukumar Nadesan has been summoned to the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) tomorrow (08) to record a statement on the revelations made by the Pandora Papers, The Morning learns.
As of now, only Nadesan has been summoned to the CIABOC.
This was further to the directive by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to the Bribery Commission to launch an immediate investigation into the incident.
The commission was informed to submit a detailed report pertaining to the investigation within a month of commencement of the investigation.
Nadesan and his wife Former Minister Nirupama Rajapaksa were accused to have acquired assets and off-shore accounts with large sums of money.
Meanwhile, Opposition Parties have called for the appointment of a Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) to investigate the allegations against Nadesan and Rajapaksa.
