The first copy of the Sinhala, Tamil and English translations of the Bhagwad Gita was handed over to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi today (20) by Minister of Youth & Sports, Minister of Development Co-ordination and Monitoring and State Minister of Digital Technology and Enterprise Development Namal Rajapaksa.
Earlier today Rajapaksa travelled with a delegation to Kushinagar to inaugurate the newly build international airport.
Rajapaksa announced the handing over of the sacred text via a twitter post, and further stated that the exchange of the sacred text symbolises the friendship and cultural similarities between Sri Lanka and India.
